  1. Our College

Our College

Our College caters for students aged 16-19. We are currently based on the same site as Woodley School. We have some students that come to us from Woodley School but as we are much smaller than the school we are limited to the number of students we can accept each academic year. Places are not guaranteed as we have to be confident that we can meet students needs.

We have recently opened a satellite provision in Byram Arcade in Huddersfield Town Centre. Our students following the Towards Employability curriculum pathway spend the majority of there time during the week at the satellite provision. There is more information below about our satellite provision.

If you are interested in your child attending Woodley College we ask that you come and look around in the first instance and find out more about what we offer. We also have our own College criteria which you can find below.

If you are in Years 10 or 11 and you'd like to attend Woodley College we offer an open event once a month where you can come and look around and find out more about what we offer.

The dates for these are below-

  • Monday 14th October 2024
  • Monday 11th November 2024
  • Monday 20th January 2025

These will take place at 4:00pm.

If you would like to book a place please call our school office- 01484 223937

Our post 16 satellite provision

Our satellite provision is based in Byram Arcade which is on Westgate in Huddersfield town centre. The satellite provision is called Blossom. Blossom is a shop that our students run.

As part of their college work, the young people are designing and making products such as cards, candles, coasters and mugs before selling them through the shop.

The shop, called Blossom, is an additional site for us and is helping students to gain work experience and learn valuable skills. Working at Blossom is an extension of their college curriculum and is set to play a vital role in future employability.

“It’s a great chance to take on more responsibility and experience a real working environment. They are also accessing new places like local shops, cafes and the bus station, which is really important in helping our students to grow in confidence.

“Students have a big say in what’s made and sold at Blossom and they are interacting with members of the public, as well as working with each other and the Woodley staff. The benefits are huge for our students.”

Raising Aspirations Pilot

Read the impact of a pilot we ran with Burberry Foundation, funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority, to raise our students' aspirations and awareness of opportunities.
